Description
In addition to the aforementioned UV and solar radiation sensors, the Vantage Pro2 Plus also measures:
- outside temperature and humidity sensors housed in a passive radiation shield
- wind speed and direction
- rainfall
The package includes the Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Integrated Sensor Suite, two sensors (UV and solar radiation), a sensor mounting shelf, and the WeatherLink Console. It is further expandable thanks to a wide variety of Davis sensors.
Features:
- One-year manufacturerโs warranty
- Near real-time updates (2.5 seconds)
- ย 1,000ft/300m transmission range
- Solar powered with a super-capacitor and a CR123 lithium battery backup
- Passive radiation shielding
- UV and solar radiation measurements
- A separate anemometer assembly can be placed up to 40′ away from the rest of the sensor suite
This version of the Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus does not include fan aspiration. A version with aspiration is available. Deciding on whether or not to opt for fan aspiration in your setup? Passive Radiation Shielding
This Vantage Pro2 model uses “passive” radiation shielding. Passive shielding will provide your temperature and humidity Sensor with substantial protection from solar radiation and other sources of radiated and reflected heat. However, in direct sunlight, passively shielded sensors without airflow around the sensors will be slightly inaccurate. While this should not be an issue for casual weather observation, commercial and scientific customers should opt for the fan-aspirated model instead.
WeatherLink Console
The Davis WeatherLink Console places all the data from your Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Vue sensor suite weather station right at your fingertips, and is the ultimate upgrade for long-time Vantage Pro2 and Vantage Vue owners. One device gives you instantaneous access to the information you need and the ability to do deep analysis, all from a single, convenient display with an intuitive and easy-to-understand touchscreen.
From viewing current and historical data on a brilliant 6.75″ HD touchscreen, creating graphs and setting alarms, calculating indexes and reviewing forecasts, the WeatherLink Console helps you keep track of conditions so you can make better decisions about your recreation, garden, home maintenance, and more.

What is the difference between the Vantage Vue and the Vantage Pro2?
While the Davis Vantage Vue and Vantage Pro2 are two totally different weather stations, they share many of the same sensors, just in different, or, in the case of the Vantage Vue, non-replaceable configurations. However, the Vantage Pro2 has a larger open area within the radiation shielding protecting your temperature and humidity sensors.
In theory, this should lessen errors on sunny and especially hot days, since there is more space for air to move. If you’re really concerned about accuracy, we strongly recommend either the fan-aspirated Pro2 or Pro2 Plus. Another important difference is sensor replacement: for example, the Pro2’s temperature and humidity sensor can be replaced; modern Vue sensor suites have the sensor hardwired into the circuit board as a cost-cutting measure to prevent price increases.
I cannot use wireless devices in my home. Is a wired version of the Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus available?
