I have been using the Tempest Weather System for a couple of years, and participate in CWOP where I send the data via Amateur Radio (APRS) to the CWOP servers. The unit works flawlessly and I am most impressed with the solar charging, which has not been a problem.

I have been using the Tempest Weather station for several years. Great performance and accurate temperature and wind reports. I have the tempest mounted at 15 feet.

I have had the Tempest station since Dec of 2020 and it has worked flawlessly. It has also been extremely accurate with rain and wind data. I have NearCast turned off and the rain totals match up exactly 98% of the time against my Taylor rain Tube. My Tempest sits about 30 feet above ground level.

I have been pleased with mine for 6 months use so far. Rain totals until the first 3-6 rain events have not matched a colocated tipping Guage. After submitting reports it has been within a few tenths difference at most. Usually in heavy rain. Last heavy rain 2 hrs was 1.15″ on tipping guage and 1.3″ on tempest. With each report it gets a little better.
Now I knew this going into it.
The ability to be a host and get a subscription (plus) to weatherflow apps like fishweather was a plus for me.
I find myself using it more than I originally thought, and have a battery backup for the hub so data not lost during power outage.
