Tariff Update
Today is the self-imposed deadline by the Trump Administration for trade deals with the United States. As we understand the most recent executive order, countries without an agreement will begin paying higher tariff rates for imports starting August 7, and not August 1 as initially thought.
What this means for our international shoppers will vary. Generally, you shouldn’t pay any higher duty until the new rates take effect, but it’s up to your home country.
For our domestic shoppers, it’s clear that in some cases, our prices will need to increase again. We were hoping for a better outcome, but these tariff rates will result in higher costs for us, and we cannot absorb additional costs beyond our current expenses.
Some of these increases have already appeared across many Davis products not covered under our price guarantee, starting today. This is a reflection of events that have already occurred: it’s not directly related to the reimposition of tariffs.
Beginning September 1, prices will also rise for nearly all complete stations.
- Vantage Vue: From $599 to $619
- Vantage Pro2 6252: From $829 to $849
- Vantage Pro2 6253: From $1149 to $1159
- Vantage Pro2 Plus 6262: From $1299 to $1309
The Vantage Pro2 Plus 6263 is expected to remain at $1,629.
We had hoped to maintain our low prices for longer, but we needed a more favorable outcome with tariffs to do so. In some respects, these duties are higher than expected, which is a significant problem for small businesses.
We’ve assembled our catalog to be heavy on items produced here in the States, to keep our prices stable, and if we need to increase prices, doing it gradually rather than significant increases, which nobody likes (INCLUDING US!).
Currently, we are not aware of any other price increases, but there could be more. We are attempting to delay these as long as possible, but in this increasingly uncertain environment, it is becoming more difficult.
We do know that they’re coming at least, and can give everyone a month’s notice to get their orders in.
