Recently, we were alerted to a service, Scam Detector, listing our site as a potential scam. Given that such an accusation is not a small one, we are forced to respond.

First, Scam Detector has not reached out to us to verify information that their proprietary algorithm failed to crawl from our site. There are multiple instances where the page claims information is unavailable, but we have publicly disclosed the information.

It also appears as if their crawler was unable to crawl our website at all, which we question why any score was given if that is the case.

We are a registered, sales tax-collecting business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and our sales tax number is found at the bottom of every page. While Cirrusly Weather itself is new, we’ve been around since 2021 as The Weather Station Experts.

You can also check TWSE as well, including on services like the Internet Archive, to see that. We’ve been on the web much longer than the three months that this domain has been active — six years next February.

We’ve been very particular about making sure everything on our site is as transparent as possible. Scams on the Internet are a real problem.

We are highly concerned with Scam Detector’s lack of verification of the information they crawl, and are reaching out to them regarding their review. Don’t get us wrong: this is an essential service, but it’s also not perfect, either.
