The Davis AeroCone Rain Collector with Vantage Pro2 Mounting Base has multiple uses depending on your specific needs:
- It can replace a pre-AeroCone (before 2014) rain collector, improving accuracy.
- Use it as a replacement for a broken or damaged Aerocone collector.
- Securely mount the collector (the Davis AeroCone Rain Collector with Flat Base is free-standing).
- It can be used for siting that requires the separation of the rain collector and the temperature/humidity sensor.
- It can also be used as part of an EnviroMonitor system.
Designed to meet the guidelines of the World Meteorological Organization, the Davis AeroCone Rain Collector with Vantage Pro2 Mounting Base reduces wind-induced errors by providing a more aerodynamic path around the collector. The AeroCone contours are designed to streamline the airflow and reduce flow distortions. The design improves rain data accuracy in high wind situations where the horizontal wind velocity can cause under-reporting.
The enhanced design features don’t stop with the outer shape: the inside of the rain collector is equally well designed, keeping intact the carefully engineered interior walls that reduce splash out during heavy rain. The debris screen locks into place, ensuring that it remains in place during high winds and heavy rainfall events.
Comes with 40โฒ (12 m) standard cable. The rain collector can be user-calibrated for 0.01โณ or 0.2 mm. The Davis AeroCone Rain Collector with Vantage Pro2 Mounting Base requires an EnviroMonitor Node and Gateway, or aย Vantage Pro2 sensor suite or Sensor Transmitter Kit,ย along with a receiver or console such asย the WeatherLink Console, WeatherLink Live, Weather Envoy, or Vantage Connect.
