Measuring rainfall is only part of the work of weather observation. Snowfall measurement is equally important, and a majority of us are using an inaccurate method (a yardstick) to do it. Enter the snow board. Based on the required NOAA specifications for a snow measurement board, the Climalytic Snow Board makes it easy to measure snowfall accurately, consistently, and safely.
Manufactured from weatherproof white PVC, the Climalytic Snow Board provides a surface for measuring fresh snowfall depth and is light enough to be repositioned if necessary. A 3-foot-tall reflective snow stake also acts as an anchor, allowing you to locate the snow board even in the heaviest snowstorms or in the dark, and keep it from blowing away. Finally, an included snow scraper can be used to clear snow off the board or to assist in making snow core samples.
The package includes a snow board with a rubber grommet, a reflective snow marker stake, a snow scraper, and an installation and user guide.
If you intend to take snow cores and calculate snow water equivalent, we recommend also having a TROPO gauge, as well as the Climalytic Digital Scale andย Climalytic Snow Ruler.
