About the Davis Vantage Pro2 with 24-hr Fan Aspiration and WeatherLink Console (6253)
While the standard Davis Vantage Pro2 is an accurate weather station, the Davis Vantage Pro2 with 24-hr Fan Aspiration and WeatherLink Console is certainly a step up from Davis stations of the past.
This version ofย Davis Vantage Pro2 includes a solar- and battery-powered, motor-driven fan that draws a constant airflow through the sensor chamber. At night, when the effects of radiation are less, the fan runs on the battery. This provides more accurate temperature readings than passive shielding alone. Deciding on whether or not to opt for fan aspiration in your setup? See our blog post for our recommendations.
The package includes the Davis Vantage Pro2 Integrated Sensor Suite with 24-hr fan aspiration, hardware, and WeatherLink Console.

FAQ
Who is the Davis Vantage Pro2 with 24-hr Fan Aspiration and WeatherLink Console best for?
We recommend the Davis Vantage Pro2 with 24-hr Fan Aspiration for various applications. Itโs best suited for applications where a high degree of accuracy is desired, or where the sensor suite spends extended periods in direct sunlight. However, the Davis Vantage Vue would better serve everyday weather watchers.
Does the Davis VantagePro2 require batteries?
The Integrated Sensor Suite operates primarily on solar power. A CR123 battery provides backup power as necessary, and in typical installations, it should last 2-3 years. We do not recommend the wireless Vantage Pro2 in locations that receive less than 6 hours of sunlight daily during winter.
How do I get the most accurate readings from my Vantage Pro2?
We strongly recommend placing your anemometer assembly as high as possible. One of the Vantage Pro2โs best features is the capability to separate the anemometer from the rest of the sensor suite. With 40 feet of wire, you can get the sensor to the official level of 33 feet.
