When accuracy is important, the Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Integrated Sensor Suite with 24-Hr Fan Aspiration, UV, and Solar Sensors is the research-grade weather station of choice. The sensor suite updates as often as every 2.5 seconds, and can transmit up to 1000′ to a WeatherLink Console, Weather Envoy, or WeatherLink Live.
The sensor suite’s outside temperature and humidity sensors are housed in a 24-hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield for maximum accuracy. The 24-Hour Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield includes a solar- and battery-powered, motor-driven fan that draws a constant airflow through the sensor chamber. At night, when the effects of radiation are less, the fan runs on the battery. This provides more accurate temperature readings than passive shielding alone.
