About the Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Cabled Integrated Sensor Suite with UV and Solar Sensors (6327C)
For situations where wireless connectivity isn’t possible, the Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Cabled Integrated Sensor Suite is undoubtedly the best cabled weather station on the market today. The sensor suite is functionally identical to the wireless Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Integrated Sensor Suite, except there are no solar panels. Your Cabled Weather Envoy supplies power instead.
Connection to the WeatherLink software and the WeatherLink cloud service is still possible through the Weather Envoy, which receives data from the ISS via an included 100-foot cable.
Is fan aspiration available?
As part of a standard package, no. However, cabled Vantage Pro2s are compatible with the Daytime Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield Kit, which will provide fan aspiration during the daylight hours, when the effects of direct solar radiation on your sensors are the most significant. See this blog post for more information.
Features:
- Passive radiation shielding
- UV and solar radiation sensors
- Separate anemometer assembly
FAQ
Who is the Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Cabled Integrated Sensor Suite with UV and Solar Sensors best for?
We recommend the Davis Vantage Pro2 for a wide variety of applications. Itโs best suited for applications where a high degree of accuracy is desired.
Why would I want a cabled version rather than wireless?
The most common reason is interference or obstructions. Wireless Integrated Sensor Suites operate in the 900 MHz band, like the first cordless telephones. However, many devices use this spectrum, causing interference. Older homes, made of stone and brick, also reflect radio signals, making reception inside your home difficult.
What is the difference between the Davis Vantage Pro2 and Pro2 Plus?
Pro2 Plus stations are identical to the Pro2, with the addition of UV and solar radiation sensors.
How do I get the most accurate readings from my Vantage Pro2 Plus?
We strongly recommend placing your anemometer assembly as high as possible. One of the Vantage Pro2 Plusโs best features is the capability to separate the anemometer from the rest of the sensor suite. With 40 feet of wire, you can get the sensor to the official level of 33 feet.
