About the Davis Daytime Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield Kit (7747)
The Davis Daytime Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield Kit adds the benefits of fan aspiration to your wireless or cabled Vantage Pro2 or Pro2 Plus. Half the cost of Davis’ 24-hour fan aspirated radiation shield, but nearly 75% as effective in reducing the effects of daytime radiation. Solar-powered fan runs during the day. Since there is no backup battery, the fan will cease running when night falls, and the effects of radiation will be less severe.

What models are the Davis Daytime Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield Kit compatible with?
This kit is compatible with the Davis Vantage Pro and Vantage Pro2 models (non-aspirated).
Is fan aspiration necessary?
In our tests, fan aspiration has resulted in as much as a 2-3F difference in reported temperature. If accuracy is a concern, fan aspiration is strongly recommended.
Is nighttime fan aspiration necessary?
While Davis does have a kit to add the same 24-hour fan aspiration as found in the Vantage Pro2 Plus, it is prohibitively expensive. The Davis Daytime Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield Kit only runs during the day, when the effects are the most pronounced.
