Description
The Davis Stainless Steel Temperature Probe is a multi-purpose sensor intended for use with a Leaf & Soil Moisture/Temperature Station (up to four can be added to a single station) or EnviroMonitor node. It can be used to measure the temperature of air, soil,ย and water.
The probe is compatible with both the original Vantage Pro (pre-2006) and Vantage Pro2. Enclosed in a 2-1/2″ (64mm) long stainless steel housing and includes a 15′ (4.6 m) direct-burial cable. The sensor cannot be used alone: a compatible transmitting station is required.
Some potential uses for the Davis Stainless Steel Temperature Probe include:
- Maintaining the water temperature in a pool or hot tub
- Monitoring temperature in a greenhouse or other outdoor structures
- Monitoring soil temperature when soil moisture measurements aren’t necessary.
Note: If used to measure air temperature, it should be shielded from direct sunlight and other sources of reflected or radiated heat.
