How do I get free shipping?

Any order totaling $60 or more pre-tax, post-coupons is eligible for free standard US shipping. There is no free shipping option for international orders, including to Canada. Canadian shoppers may find our Canada Flat Rate a more economical option than weight-based shipping.

What is ‘Delivery and Installation Assistance?’

If your zipcode is within 60 miles of our location, you will see an option when choosing shipping for ‘Delivery and Installaton Assistance.’ This is billed at a flat rate of $75, and includes delivery and up to 60 minutes of installation assistance to get you up and running. Please note that we can not mount your weather station off of ground level due to liabilty reasons. We typically deliver in the late afternoon and early evening, prior to sunset.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes! We are currently piloting international shipping worldwide on select items. All items are available for shipping to the US and Canada, with most items also available for shipping to Mexico. In some cases, reseller restrictions prevent us from selling products to customers outside the United States. There is a minimum order requirement of USD$40.

Please note we do not ship to countries under economic sanctions by the United States Government, nor areas where active conflict is occurring. Additionally, due to a high degree of fraudulent activity, all traffic from the countries of China, Latvia, Iran, Singapore, Cambodia, and Bahrain is blocked for security reasons.

Please note that some international orders may undergo additional verification prior to processing to prevent fraud, which may lengthen processing times.

Most weather stations and instruments can be shipped worldwide; however, please note that the average shipping cost is $100-$200 USD.

I’d like to get my weather station faster, but I ship a lot and have never seen rates that high!

Weather stations, while light in weight (~15 pounds), come in a very large box, especially Davis (two feet wide!). When selecting an expedited option, a portion of your shipment’s transit will occur by air in nearly all cases. While weight still matters, space is limited, so larger boxes cost more to ship. The prices quoted for expedited shipping are not altered (i.e., handling fees, a premium added), and are what we pay. We strongly recommend using our free shipping option for weather stations if it’s available to you, as in many cases, there isn’t that much of an improvement in delivery times to justify the additional cost.

(Please reach out, however, we’d be glad to offer a discount on expedited options upon request, but we should caution that this discount may vary, and might not be available in all situations).

What is the best way to ship weather stations to Puerto Rico?

Based on discussions with customers on the island, we have created a special 2-day flat rate option that replaces the free shipping option previously available as of August 20, 2025. The reasons for this are two-fold: first, rates for 2-Day Air and ‘Ground’ shipping to Puerto Rico are nearly identical. Also, we’ve been advised that shipping via Ground methods to Puerto Rico can result in significant delays.

Unfortunately, most of our distributors do not offer discounted shipping to Puerto Rico (how we offer free fast shipping to you), so we’ve decided to end free shipping to Puerto Rico, replacing it with an option that will get orders in the hands of customers at similar speeds to our customers in the lower 48.

Second, our shipping costs to Puerto Rico addresses are several times higher than to addresses within the continental United States. You will find that in many cases, selecting flat rate shipping will be cheaper than standard options. Current costs to ship a weather station to Puerto Rico are about $150, based on our experience.

What is the best way to ship weather stations to Alaska and Hawaii?

Similar to our shipping option for Puerto Rico, we are introducing a 3-day flat rate option to Alaska and Hawaii that replaces the free shipping method and provides faster shipping to these locations. Moving to a shipping solution that involves air travel cuts transit times in half. (Davis special order items may ship using a different service level, as those orders are directly dispatched from Davis’ Hayward, California warehouse).

As with shipments to Puerto Rico, effective August 20, 2025, there is no longer a free shipping option available to these states.

What is the best way to ship weather stations to US territories?

Shipments to US territories other than Puerto Rico are likely best sent via USPS due to cost.

What is the most suitable shipping method for the international delivery of weather stations?

In most cases, using USPS Priority Mail International Express will be about 50% cheaper than using either UPS or FedEx. While these stations don’t weigh much, the box is large and not a standard size, which box size is a much bigger factor in international shipments, given the limited space available.

A note on USPS deliveries

While our domestic customers are well aware of the recent issues with USPS, it’s expected that our international customers are not. One issue that has been consistently a problem for USPS deliveries for years is tracking information. Based on our experience so far, it is taking 24-48 hours for initial tracking information to appear.

This is due to the USPS’s increasing reliance on third parties to move items through its network. We’ve noticed delays of up to 6-12 hours on tracking information outside of the USPS’s network, whereas other providers update new information within minutes of a scan, regardless of whether its handled by the carrier or a third-party.

The other part that has recently become an issue is speed. In November of last year, the postal service ended any time guarantees for international shipments. While we still recommend selecting Express, the speed of movement through the system is far slower than UPS or FedEx. Choosing a standard speed will result in longer shipping times. Once it leaves the USPS system and enters your home country’s postal system, the speeds should be more what you’re accustomed to.

We want to caution against linking slow delivery times with lost packages. While service quality has decreased, the number of lost packages has not increased. This is a long-standing technical and logistical problem with the postal service in the US, not a service problem.

Unfortunately, these issues are well outside our control, and is a source of frustration for Americans. We ask for patience from our international shoppers, as USPS is regrettably the only cost-effective way to ship weather stations overseas because of their large size.

I am being asked to pay additional fees at customs.

When importing, you may be subject to fees, such as tariffs or other import charges, that your home country imposes. We strongly recommend you check your local import laws to ensure you aren’t surprised by fees at pickup. Additionally, with a far more uncertain trade environment, these fees may change with little notice, even as your shipment is in transit. We do not remit these fees, as we are the exporter.

Do you ship partial orders?

In nearly all cases, and especially for international shipments, we ship complete orders only. There are exceptions to this on a case-by-case basis. This allows us to keep prices low and offer free shipping on orders as little as $60. If you are ordering a back-ordered item, please note that it may delay the receipt of your order. Typical backorder delays will be around a week, as we receive new shipments every week.

How can I track my order?

You can track your order through My Account if you have an account with us, and/or by visiting our Track Your Order page. You will need either your phone number, email address, and order number, or the tracking number provided in your shipment email.

How much does shipping cost?

To simplify shipping, we have implemented a flat-rate shipping method based on cart value, beginning at $3.99. Any order over $60 qualifies for free standard shipping. Other methods are available, including USPS, UPS, and FedEx, which are based on weight, as shown at checkout. To find these shipping costs, use the calculator provided on the product page.

* – Transit times provided are to urban and suburban regions and areas closest to the US border. Rural and remote areas will take up to one week for delivery, depending on service availability.

Will I need to select Expedited Shipping to receive my order quickly?

No. Depending on the product’s location, standard shipping may have the same transit time as expedited shipping would. However, expedited shipping offers “date definite” delivery dates, where your order is guaranteed to arrive by a specific date or earlier (carriers prioritize these packages during busy times or bad weather, delaying standard ground packages first). If you need an item by a particular date, we strongly recommend selecting a non-standard method.

What methods are used for domestic shipping?

This will most often be either UPS Ground or 3-Day Select, or better. In some cases, selecting Expedited Shipping may offer one-day shipping if the delivery is close enough to the warehouse.

If you select a specific method, that method (or a better one) is used to ship your order.

What methods are used for International shipments?

We use USPS, UPS or FedEx. Availability will depend on the supplier and the product. Weather stations will always be shipped USPS due to cost, unless the customer requests otherwise. The customer is responsible for any shipping fees, regardless of carrier.

How long does delivery take?
