While you might think a digital scale doesn’t have a use in meteorology, when a rain gauge is full of several inches of rain, it has a considerable amount of weight. Did you know that you can calculate the rainfall from that weight alone? Let the Climalytic Precision Digital Scale help you do that, and it is approved by CoCoRaHS for such a purpose.
In addition to the scale’s operating manual, a user guide is included that provides detailed instructions on how to effectively use the Climalytic Digital Scale to measure rain without decanting the outer rain gauge tube and snow by calculating the snow water equivalent (SWE). The scale offers both high resolution (nearest 0.1g) and a high weight capacity (5kg/11lb).
The scale surface is made of super tempered glass, with three soft-touch buttons for easy operation and a large LED screen on the scale’s front. It is powered by either AC power, an internal rechargeable battery, or two AAA batteries. The scale measures 6.25″ wide by 9″ long, providing enough scale space for small and moderately sized objects, including the Climalytic TROPO Precipitation Gauge.
The Climalytic Precision Digital Scale isn’t only suitable for scientific use: it also works great for other uses, including food and the weight of small packages. Measurements available in grams (g), kilograms (kg), milliliters (ml), ounces (oz), and pounds (lb).
