FAQ
Who is the Davis Vantage Vue best for?
We recommend the Davis Vantage Vue for a wide variety of applications. It’s popular among weather watchers and gardeners. However, those requiring a higher degree of accuracy may be better served by the Davis Vantage Pro2.
Does the Davis Vantage Vue require batteries?
The Integrated Sensor Suite operates primarily on solar power. A CR123 battery provides backup power as necessary, and in typical installations, it should last 2-3 years. We do not recommend the Vantage Vue in locations that receive less than 6 hours of sunlight daily during winter.
Do I need the WeatherLink Console?
The Davis Vantage Vue Integrated Sensor Suite is compatible with the Davis Weather Envoy, WeatherLink Live, and WeatherLink Console.

We’ve had this simple system for about a decade and it still runs absolutely great! Maintenance is exceedingly easy. The system just refuses to die. We added the WeatherLink console and can state unequivocably that it is a must-have. The old console still works and we’ve put it in another location as an additional console instead of tossing it. We’ve had other, cheaper systems and they just don’t last. We recommend this one without hesitation.
