Coming Shortly – Better Search!

As our product catalog began to grow, it felt like our pages were becoming increasingly difficult to navigate, and a better search experience was something we needed to work on. We have made some changes to the backend to enhance the searchability of our product catalog.

These changes are gradually rolling out over the next day or two, which we believe are essential to highlight.

You’ll be able to filter products based on the following attributes:

Better Search by Color and Size

You’ll be able to filter available apparel by color and size quickly. Both vary based on size, so this is a much easier way to see our entire lineup in your size on a single screen. Our effort to create a better search experience began here, but we thought implementing it across our entire catalog was a good idea.

We’re also implementing two additional filter types.

Measurements and Key Features

This will be used for our instrumentation pages. Eventually, these will appear as icons on the product page, allowing you to quickly see what a weather station or gadget can and cannot do.

Initially, you can filter by these features:

• Temperature
• Humdity
• Wind
• Rainfall
• Barometric Pressure
• Lightning Detection
• UV/Solar
• Snow measurement
• Smartphone app
• Smart home ready

We took a lot of time to pick icons that are immediately recognizable. If you have feedback or suggestions, we welcome you to share them with us.

Search by Format

For our books, e-books, and printables, we’re adding the capability to search by format. Here, those options are:

• Downloadable
• E-Book
• Printed (single sheet – for obs forms, etc.)
• Paperback
• Hardcover

While most of these aren’t in use yet, they will be 🙂 Overall, we needed better search capabilities, and we believe this is a significant step in the right direction.
